About Us
ISA, is based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The primary objectives are providing Indigenous youth the opportunity to participate in a program that provides excellent academic, athletic and personal development in a culturally appropriate setting.
The student athlete’s participants at the ISA will be expected to be dedicated to academic, athletic and personal excellence. The combination of these will provide our student athletes a competitive advantage on and off the ice.
We were unanimously voted into the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), by the board of governors, in the spring of 2022. We are in our 3rd year having a Male U17 Prep team and we are currently in the development stages for having a Male U18 Prep team in the 2024-25 season.

Games & Training
The primary goal of our program is to develop balanced student athletes who will move on to Junior and College hockey programs. Our program currently has 60-75 minutes of on-ice and off ice training, 4-5 days a week from September till June. The on-ice focus will be combined with off ice training that focuses off ice skills, fitness, nutrition, mental, leadership and hockey IQ.
Our coaches will work with the student athletes to develop a performance improvement plan for each student athlete. Saskatoon has a wide variety of licensed skills instructors and health professionals who will also be utilized to support the program. We currently have partnerships and utilize a local Power Skating Skills coach and Power Edge Pro to support the on-ice skills component.
Our current provider for off-ice conditioning is Ignite Athletics. Our physiotherapy, by Pro Sport Rehab, is a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic that applies a sport rehab approach to all injuries. They also provide functional strength training by certified exercise therapists skilled in the latest techniques.
